Baba Suwe urges Appeal Court to affirm N25m judgment
Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly called Baba Suwe, has urged the Court of Appeal, Lagos to affirm the judgment of a Lagos High Court, Ikeja awarding him N25m compensation for his wrongful detention by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency in 2011.
The Justice Chima Nweze-led appeal reserved the case for judgment after parties adopted their briefs of argument on Thursday.

Teachers want scrabble game included in schools curricula
Lagos - Some English teachers in private schools in Lagos State have called on state government to include scrabble game into the primary and secondary schools curricula to increase the proficiency of students.
The teachers, who spoke in Lagos on Wednesday, added that the game would also assist the students in the development of spellings abilities.
Mrs Helen Morieke of Olufunwa Children School, Agric-Ojo in Lagos, said that scrabble had the capacity to increase the proficiency of students in the English and Mathematics.

Three feared dead as container falls off truck
LAGOS — No fewer than three persons were feared dead, Tuesday, when a container fell off an articulated truck along Apapa/Oshodi expressway and landed on commuters waiting for buses at Otto-Wharf bus-stop, killing three of them. Others reportedly sustained injuries.

Britain bids farewell to Margaret Thatcher
LONDON – Margaret Thatcher was given a final farewell Wednesday with full military honours that saw her coffin applauded through the streets of London, as the queen led mourners in paying their respects to Britain’s divisive and influential former prime minister. Tens of thousands of well-wishers turned out to watch Thatcher’s coffin as it travelled to St Paul’s Cathedral, many breaking into spontaneous applause and throwing flowers.
