Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu
Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu on Wednesday advised other governors in the country to put their houses in order as the nation approaches the 2015 general elections, saying people will want to frighten them as the polls draw nearer.
He also told the governors to advise their appointees to put all their records straight so that they would not be caught unawares by any agency of government.
Aliyu stated this in Minna when he received the Board members of the Federal Medical Centre, Bida, led by the Chairman, Mr. George Eguh.

Nigeria’s betrayal of Rashidi Yekini
Rashidi Yekini
It was one year last week Saturday that legendary Nigerian footballer, Rashidi Yekini, died in what the Nigerian media would characteristically describe as “mysterious circumstances”, a shorthand way of labelling a situation that is not so cut and dried but which they would not be bothered to diligently investigate. Since his death, a lot has happened in the life of our nation but very little, actually, has changed.
In another one year or thereabout, the anniversary of Yekini’s death will

Fat location determines your health risk
Fats don’t flatter the image most of the time. But beyond the aesthetic beauty that a lean body projects, researchers are now saying that the location or distribution of body fat matters when we are talking about overall wellbeing.
Scientists say that, generally, body weight is influenced by a person’s age, gene and hormonal activities on the one hand, and by the body maintenance condition — how much you exercise, diet, etc. They contend that the amount and location of fat in your body affects your risk for a number of health conditions.
Body shapes and fat distribution
According to an online beauty and fitness page, channel4.com, the apple shape is defined by an ample bust, round stomach and slimmer hips. Here, fat is mainly distributed in the abdomen, chest, and face.

Signs you are living beyond your means
You do not have to be a financial expert to know that you are spending more than you should.
For individuals to attain financial freedom, one of the most common pieces of advice given by experts is, “live within your means.” To achieve this, they are told to spend less than they earn and save more, to stick to budgets, and to know the difference between their needs and wants.
As straightforward as that may sound, many people do not make the needed adjustment, erroneously believing they are living within their means. After all, everything they have spent their money on can be categorised as needs. In essence, their expenses can be “justified”.

Osaze finally quits West Brom
Osaze
Osaze Odemwingie’s future with West Bromwich Albion was decided during talks between the club and the PFA last week – with the striker set for a summer exit, irrespective of Saturday’s flare-up with Baggies supporters.

Anti-press violence: How safe are journalists?
*Harassed journalist
Like Soud Qbeilat, an artist, would say, “When there is no freedom, there is no creativity”. No doubt, press freedom in Nigeria has become increasingly worrisome as cases of journalists who were murdered remain unresolved and the list continues to grow.
This disturbing development negates the provisions of the Constitution which guarantees press freedom. Section 39 (1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides that: “Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference.”

A married woman has been beaten and strípped unclád in public after she was caught sleeping with another man.
The question now is why is it that men hardly get the same treatment when they are caught sleeping with another woman?
Immediately a lady is caught cheating, without people hearing her reasons for such act, she is quickly been tagged as a prostitute, and called all sorts of diminishing names. And even sometimes just like this similar case, beaten and strípped uncld in public.
