There have been rumours that there is a silent rivalry between top comedians, Basketmouth and AY. Many believe that the rivalry is based on ego issues because both humour merchants are big brands in the industry.

On Easter Sunday, Basketmouth, looking very casual, was spotted at the lobby of the hotel where AY’s annual Easter show was held. So many people had thought Basketmouth came for the show and most of his fans who also came for the AY show, stopped by him to take pictures with him.

But just after he exchanged banters with his fans and took pictures with them, the comedian got into his SUV and zoomed off! He didn’t come back.

Of course, it made so many people believe indeed, there is a certain ‘beef’ between the comedians.

Co-pilot deliberately crashed Germanwings plane – Report

The co-pilot of the Germanwings flight that crashed in the French Alps, named as Andreas Lubitz, appeared to want to “destroy the plane”, officials said.

Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin, citing information from the “black box” voice recorder, said the co-pilot was alone in the cockpit, the British Broadcasting Corporation reports.

He intentionally started a descent while the pilot was locked out.

Robin said there was “absolute silence in the cockpit” as the pilot fought to re-enter it.

He said air traffic controllers made repeated attempts to contact the aircraft, but to no avail. Passengers could be heard screaming just before the crash, he added.

Details are emerging of the German co-pilot’s past – although his apparent motives for causing the crash remain a mystery.

Lubitz, 28, had undergone intensive training and “was 100% fit to fly without any caveats”, according to Carsten Spohr, the head of Lufthansa, the German carrier that owns Germanwings.

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, says in order to meet the growing demand for accommodation in Lagos State, he will make the cost of land virtually free if elected governor.

Agbaje said this at a fundraising dinner titled, “An evening of interaction and dinner with Jimi Agbaje” in Lagos.

He said Lagos had a housing deficit of over two million and his target was to ensure that at least 200,000 housing units are built yearly.

Jonathan assigns portfolio to Obanikoro, seven others

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday inaugurated the eight new ministers recently confirmed by the Senate before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.

The President thereafter assigned portfolios to them as follows: Senator Patricia Akwashiki (Information); Prof. Nicholas Ada (State, Foreign Affairs I); Senator Musiliu Obanikoro (State, Foreign Affairs II); Col. Augustine Akobundu (retd.), (State, Defence); Mr. Fidelis Nwankwo (State, Health); Mrs. Hauwa Bappa (State, Niger Delta Affairs); Mr. Kenneth Kobani (State, Industry, Trade and Investment); and Senator Joel Ikenya (Labour and Productivity).

The President also named the Minister of State, Health, Khaliru Alhassan, as the Minister of Health. Alhassan has been acting as Supervising Minister of Health since Prof. Onyebuchi Ckukwu resigned in 2014.

Also inaugurated on Wednesday were a Commissioner for the Federal Civil Service Commission, representing Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa states, Dr. Jonah Madugu, and a Commissioner for National Population Commission, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyi, from Lagos State.
