Flood destroys N70m farmlands in Plateau
Mr Alex Nantuam, Chairman, Shendam Local Government of Plateau State, says farmlands worth about N70 million in Shimankar, Dokan Tofa, Angwan Rina, Angwan Dadi and Kallum communities have been destroyed by flood, recently.
El-Zakzaky has Iran’s support to turn Nigeria to Islamic State —FG
The Federal Government has alleged that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has the sole aim of establishing an Islamic State in Nigeria.
The government also said the cleric had the full support of the Iranian government to achieve this aim.

Man nabbed for defiling five-year-old girl in Yola
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Abdullahi Adamu, aka Adati, 19, for defiling a five-year-old girl.
The spokesman for the command, DSP Suleiman Ngoroje, confirmed the arrest in Yola on Tuesday.

Burundi withdraws from ICC
Burundi on Friday became the first ever nation to leave the International Criminal Court, set up some 15 years ago to prosecute those behind the world’s worst atrocities.
“Burundi’s withdrawal from the Rome Statute will take effect on Friday, 27 October 2017,” an ICC spokesperson told AFP.
Court decides Evans’ applications to quash murder charges Nov. 10

FG allocates N6.9bn for Villa zoo, presidential fleet, others
The Presidency is proposing to spend a total sum of N6.94bn on wildlife conservation, fuel and lubricants, purchase of C-Caution triangles for vehicles, fire extinguishers, construction of recreational facilities at the State House and maintain the presidential fleet.
Details of the spending are contained in the 2016 budget, which President Muhammadu Buhari presented to a joint session of the National last week.
Female suicide bombers now attack after asking water for ablution, defence chief warns Nigerians
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, has warned that female suicide bombers have deployed a new tactic to carry out their nefarious activity. Speaking at the end of year conference with principal staff officers of the Defence Headquarters yesterday Dec. 30th, Olonisakin said that female bombers now get easy access to people's homes by requesting for water to perform ablution.

Buhari slashes federal ministries to twenty five
AHEAD of Wednesday’s (today) inauguration of 36 ministers-designate, there were indications on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari, had reduced the number of federal ministries to 25 from about 29.
Under the new dispensation, the ministries of police affairs, aviation and special duties appear to have been scrapped while ministries of Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Works have been merged to become Ministry of Works and Housing. Also, the information, culture, national orientation and tourism ministries have been collapsed into one Ministry of Information and Culture.
