Etim
Kalu Ikeagwu are stars of a new film, Broken, due for release this weekend.
Marriage is a beautiful institution but many people never deny the fact that it is also a tough call. Somehow, some things will just not work out between the partners.
Nollywood stars,
Nse Ikpe Etim and Kalu Ikweagwu, have again put the sacred institution on trial, anyway. They are the star couple in Broken, a new film produced and directed by Bright Wonder. The flick centres around the lives of the two adults, their attempt at marriage and especially post-divorce.
Says the producer, “They get separated and, along the line, their lives are thrown into chaos as mistakes of their past lives – including the aftermath of the children they failed to bring up properly in their selfish union – come haunting their present as asylum, death-row and street living mar their once sane lives.”
But because Broken is first and foremost an entertainment machine, Etim and Ikeagwu will again catch the fancy of many film lovers from tomorrow (Saturday) when the film will go on DVD. Etim expresses delight at having been part of Broken, an experience she describes as being enriching at every stage of production.
Among other films, she played major roles in Mr. and Mrs, Phone Swap, Guilty Pleasures, Re-loaded, Kiss and Tell and Edikan. She notes that Broken, which also features Bimbo Manuel, offered her the emotional role in her career.
She says, “When I was given the script, I couldn’t but say yes. The storyline is very touching. It was a real life scene to me. Being on set with Kalu Ikeagwu and Bimbo Manuel was a nice experience; Broken is my most emotional movie till date, the experience will linger for a long time”
