CDO switches to gospel music
John Iketuonye
Fast rising singer, John Iketuonye, formerly known as Ceasefire, has not only switched to gospel music but has also changed his stage name to CDO, Ceasefire Da Oracle.
His crossover from secular music to gospel is a total turnaround for the artiste who has now become the founder of an evangelical outreach known as IrepDaMostHigh.
CDO told Saturday Beats that his mission was to take the gospel to places where he had done business in the past like nightclubs, hotels, brothels, beaches and other fun spots using his music as a major tool of transformation.
“I have always encountered miscreants and commercial sex workers while I was consulting for, and running nightclubs. When I started Rectitude Records as a secular artiste, I came in contact with so many young people, especially females, who would give anything to become famous, and that mentality has driven a lot of them to a point of ungodliness. I now have a clear instruction to reach out to the same audience using gospel music as a platform,” he said.
His current single track, Warming Up, is enjoying massive airplay especially from gospel disc jockeys. He said plans were being put in place to release his debut album, Church Outside.
