Corps member offers free surgery to Adamawa indigenes


Reprieve has come to the way of cleft lip/palate victims in Adamawa State as a corps member serving in the state, Victor Hilenen Aben offered them free surgery.

Aben who partnered Oral Health Advocacy Initiative, OHAI, a non governmental agency that aimed at increasing awareness on the problems of oral health in the society, said the free healthcare was part of his Community Development Service, CDS, of NYSC programme.

Last Saturday, 1,735,720 candidates sat for the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Out of this number, only 520,000 will be offered admission to all the tertiary institutions across the country.

The Nigerian Entertainment Conference held over the weekend at the Grand ball room of the Eko Hotel and suites, Victoria Island, Lagos was nearly marred by violent exchange of words between Kennis Music Boss Mr. Kenny Ogungbe and Chairman of Copyright Society of Nigeria COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji.

Dexterous and award winning rap artist Jude Abaga better known as MI has lashed out at the executive members of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria PMAN, stating in very strong terms that the association is an ‘embarrassment’ to the industry and should be usurped via a ‘coup’.

MI said this at the Nigerian Entertainment conference held Friday, April 26 at the Grand ball room of the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island Lagos where incidentally no executive member of PMAN was present.

Three UNILAG graduates bag Elumelu Prize


Honours came the way of three graduates of the University of Lagos on April 23, when they received the Elumelu Legacy Prize from the Tony Elumelu Foundation.

Manipulating judiciary will lead to chaos – Soyinka

NOBEL laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has urged politicians to desist from manipulating the judiciary to prevent a state of anarchy in the country.

Soyinka explained that though the judiciary was making headway in reforms, there was still the need to tackle some dark areas in the sector.
