   The controversial picture.

The Nigeria Police has described the photograph, which showed a senior police officer in the act of fondling the breast of an unknown lady, as fake. It said the picture, which went viral on the Internet, was deliberately fabricated with the aid of Adobe Photoshop technology to mislead the public.

What electronic gadgets can do to you

A gadget is a device or appliance having a unique purpose and function. At the time of their invention, gadgets are often way ahead in terms of novelty and uniqueness. This is what makes them so desirable and ‘cool.’

That modern gadgets have changed the world is an understatement. No one wants to go back to the days of no television, no Internet and definitely no cell phone.

Each day, tech companies churn out the latest versions of laptops and mobile phones, while household and kitchen appliances are not left out.

While it is easy to get caught up in the rave of the moment, there is increasing scientific evidence linking ‘electropollution’ to the rise in cancer, birth defects, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, depression, learning disabilities and even Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Before you do breast implant

That men obsess over women’s bust is no news. Indeed, Nigerian Juju megastar, King Sunny Ade, might have unwittingly lent credence to this when, in a media interview, he confessed that for a woman to turn him on, she must be heavily endowed in the chest area.

He even composed a number around the issue when, in one of his tracks, he said a woman’s true beauty lies in the denseness of her breasts.

It’s not only men that obsess over women’s breasts, though. The average woman also considers them something of a treasure; while those in showbiz virtually see them as their unique selling point — wrongly or rightly.

Don’t get infected with Typhoid

Toria is not one to complain about her health, by the time she does, one can be certain it’s serious. So it was quite an issue on Sunday this week, when she kept on about a nagging pain. “I’m not feeling too well. There is this pain in my lower abdomen. It’s making me really uncomfortable.” Initially, no one gave her moaning much attention, but when she kept it up all day, some helpful suggestions began to materialize. ”It’s probably constipation or an ulcer,” a friend suggested. “Perhaps it’s that time of the month,” another pointed out. But none of these suggestions did much to assuage Toria’s discomfort or help identify the true cause of her pain. It was not until the very next day when she broke out into a very high fever and red skin rash that she was taken to the local clinic that a diagnosis of typhoid fever was confirmed. But Toria was dumbstruck.

Save your skin from boils

The human skin is the largest organ in the body, as it covers the skeleton. The skeleton, in turn, encases the internal organs, shielding them from harm. Yet, many of us are so unduly familiar with our skin to the point that we leave it to cater for itself. Physicians say while many systemic factors such as diabetes, obesity, and hematologic (blood) disorders could lower an individual’s resistance to opportunistic infections, the truth is that, generally, when you place your skin at the mercy of the weather, a lot of harm — by way of infections — can happen to it, and they include developing a rash of boils. Boil complication Family physician, Dr. Damilare Okikiolu, explains, “A boil, medically called a furuncle, is a deep infection in the hair follicles (folliculitis). It is most commonly caused by infection by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. It usually results in a painful, swollen area on the skin caused by an accumulation of pus

*Ijeoma

Ijeoma Imoh has been in Nollywood for almost a decade; and if she would not be quick to tell you she has made a name for herself, it is only because she is being modest because the records are there to see and they speak well in her favour. Few weeks ago, she added another year and instead of wallowing in celebratory bliss with just friends, the Abia State-born actress showed her ‘heart of gold’ by visiting Heart of Gold Hospice in Surulere, Lagos to celebrate with the underprivileged before painting the town red with her select friends. It was at Ojez Restaurant our reporter caught up with her. Enjoy the chat:
