Former Super Falcon coach Jossy Lad passes on at 72

Former Super Falcon coach, Joseph Ladipo, popularly called Jossy Lad died on Thursday at his Kuola, Apata residence in Ibadan after a protracted illness..

The former Shooting Stars coach gave up the ghost at exactly 10:15am while having breakfast.

He received treatment for heart-related diseases for some weeks at the University College Hospital, Ibadan before he went back home on Friday.

His first son, Wale Ladipo, said his father’s health was earlier believed to have improved.

The former tactician was discharged from the hospital by the Chief Medical Director of UCH, Prof. Temitope Alonge, before his health deteriorated.

The son said, “The family resolved to taking him abroad for further treatment but we had cash constrains.”

His remains had been deposited at the UCH mortuary.

One of his close associates, Alhaji Banji Akintayo, said, “He lived a fulfilled life as a footballer, a coach and an administrator.”

Akintayo, who is Chairman, Ibadan Football Association, added that the deceased distinguished himself in his chosen career and left promising children behind”.

His teammate, Niyi Akande, said, “I have lost a great teammate, colleague and good friend. I feel so sad and short of words.”
