It’s amazing winning Europa League –Moses

                                                  Victor Moses

Nigeria’s Victor Moses has described in one sentence what it feels like to win a European trophy. The Chelsea attacker who was part of the celebrating party on Wednesday in Amsterdam announced via his Twitter account that it was such an amazing feeling.

He wrote, “Amazing feeling to win the Europa League absolutely buzzing!”

On Tuesday and ahead of the match against Benfica the Nigerian expressed his mood in similar fashion. Soon after their plane touched down in Holland, he tweeted, “Just landed in Amsterdam massive game tomorrow come on lads.”

Chelsea defeated their Portuguese club opponents 2-1 in a cool frenzy night for their fans to lift the trophy. It was Chelsea’s first triumph for the Europa cup and they became just one of the very few European clubs to have won all continental cups.

But Moses is not the only Nigerian caught in the wave of Chelsea celebrations. His Super Eagles teammate Mikel Obi told MTNFootball.com he is also excited to win Europa League title and make history with Chelsea.

Mikel, who was an unused substitute in Wednesday night’s final, said it was a wonderful way to end the season, while also dreaming of more titles next season.

He said, “I am very happy to have lifted the Europa League title, it was a wonderful way to end the season. Though I would have loved to play in the final, what mattered most was the victory and those who played did well. This is another history here, I am savouring this moment.”

Fernando Torres opened scoring in the 60th minute before Cardozo equalised few minutes later for Benfica. Branislav Ivanovic’s superb header in stoppage time will then win the Europa League for the Stamford Bridge team. The goal sent the London club’s blue-decked fans into raptures and meant Chelsea became the first English club to win all three of UEFA’s major trophies.

Ajax Amsterdam, Bayern Munich and Juventus are the only other teams to have won the Europa League, European Cup and the now defunct Cup Winners’ Cup.

The Wednesday night European success made it the second major trophies for both players this year. In February they won the Africa Nations Cup for Nigeria after beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final match played in Johannesburg. The quality runs for club and country are putting the Nigerians in good stead for the 2013 African Footballer of the Year award.
