A man was arrested, charged, convicted, and jailed on assault related charges after burning his wife’s body because she was too beautiful, according to court proceedings in Kenya.
The Kenyan man burned his wife for being too beautiful after being married for over two years.
John told a Kenyan court that he abused his wife because she cheated on him on several occasions, a charge Janet denied saying that it was he who broke the marriage vows with his infidelity.
John also told the court that his wife found men because she is too beautiful.
The victim of domestic violence, Janet Mwihaki, a citizen of Kenya met her fate after giving birth to their third child.
Mwihaki said that her husband began to change after the birth of their third child. Janet then decided to separate from her husband.
After a year of separation, Janet returned to Nairobi to work as a trader.
One night, John burned his wife’s face, hands and breasts, disfiguring her.
Police advised her to report the incident to police if she sees him again. She did, and then is when she called police who arrested and charged John with assault related charges.
John received a 10 year prison sentence.
According to the prison guards, John is now a changed man and because of his good behavior, he could be released early.
“Why would such a cruel man be released from prison so quickly after a court handed down a 10 year prison sentence? What is wrong with the prison guards in that particular prison? The government should suspend those guards and prison officials just for thinking about releasing such a violent man back into the street where he could hurt more innocent people,” Carmen Duncan, 60, of Syracuse, New York told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the man who burned his wife for being too beautiful.
